Major Road Routes in Wales
|
|
As you are going to travel by road, it would be better if you gain some knowledge of the local road routes. These are the more important ones:
M4 – This is the main artery in Wales that links cities and other settlements along the South Wales coast and eventually provides a link with London. The Wales section of the road runs from Second Severn Crossing to Pont Abraham connecting Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.
A55 – Performs a similar role along the North Wales coast. Provides connections for places like Holyhead and Bangor with Wrexham, Flintshire and Chester.
A470 – This is the main north-south link running from Cardiff to Llandudno.
At A55 Flintshire, there is a single lane blocked both ways due to roadworks between Ewloe and Dobbs Hill.
There are temporary traffic light installations and gas pipe work at A543 Denbighshire on High Street, near Hall Square, Denbigh.
There are also temporary traffic light installations and water main work at A528 Wrexham Salop Road near Springfield Park, Overton.
There are temporary traffic light installations and ongoing roadworks at A548 Flintshire on Bagillt Road near Rayon Road, Holywell.
A5 Denbighshire is also mired by temporary traffic light installations and ongoing roadworks near Hall Street, Llangollen.
There are temporary traffic light installations and ongoing cable laying at A548 Flintshire between A547 Nant Drive and Hafod-Y-Ddol Road, in Mostyn.
