Since you are going to travel by road, you should acquire some familiarity with the major road routes of the region. These are some of the more important ones:
A3 – runs northeastward from Guildford to London, and southwestward to Portsmouth
A31 – branches off from A3 and leads to New Alresford on way to Winchester
A331 – connects A3 to M3
A322 – connects Guildford to A3
No major motorway passes through the region, although M3 and M25 take a circuitous route towards northwest and northeast of the region.
There is one lane closed at M3 Surrey both ways due to roadworks between J3 and J2 M25, Lightwater.
At A248 Surrey, there are ongoing emergency repairs due to subsidence. Temporary traffic lights are installed on Dorking Road between Blacksmith Lane and Sampleoak Lane, in Chilworth.
There are temporary traffic lights installed and ongoing roadworks at A245 Surrey on both ways of Sheerwater Road, between Byfleet Corner and B382 Old Woking Road, in Byfleet.
Expect delays at A3 Surrey due to ongoing major roadworks and restrictions both ways between Lipphook and Thursley, in Hindhead.
At A23 Surrey, there are roadworks during the evening and temporary traffic lights are installed both ways of Brighton Road between Dean Lane and Church Lane, in Hooley.
There are also restrictions due to roadworks at A23 greater London on the southbound lanes of Brighton Road at Woodfield Hill.
